The owner and founder of Alana Dinsdale Physiotherapy.

Dr Alana Dinsdale is an experienced physiotherapist, lecturer and researcher with over a decade of experience working in the musculoskeletal space. In physiotherapy, Alana is driven by curiosity and a desire to find solutions to problems. She is compassionate and innovative and adopts an evidence-based, person-centred approach to help find the best options for her patients.

Since graduating with her Bachelor of Physiotherapy from UQ in 2012, Alana has worked and trained alongside a number of exceptional healthcare professionals to develop an expertise in various areas of musculoskeletal physio. Over the years of working in Brisbane, she has developed relationships with leading surgeons, consultants, pain specialists, dentists, GPs and allied health professionals. She has spent a number of years working closely with patients undergoing spinal surgeries and with local sporting clubs.

While Alana enjoys seeing an array of musculoskeletal disorders, Alana has developed a specific interest in the assessment and management of temporomandibular disorders (what on earth are those?). Alana completed her PhD through UQ in 2023 where she explored disability and management of individuals with persistent intra-articular TMDs. Her research has been published across various peer-reviewed journals and presented at local and national conferences. Alana continues to actively pursue research in this space and engage with patients, clinicians and researchers alike to improve the management of those living with TMDs.

Alongside clinic work, Alana is a Lecturer in Physiotherapy at UQ, a beach lover and searcher of good food. She has a lazy but loveable labrador called Ochie, who is her willing adventure side kick.
